Recently, the below bibliotherapy initiatives have been launched in Australia.
Words That Heal is a creative bibliotherapy group reading program promoting positive wellbeing developed by Susan McLaine, a leading advocate of bibliotherapy in collaboration with a physiologist and a GP for use in the Australian context. This program was developed and piloted in 2014.
Central West Libraries in New South Wales will be launching a Books on Prescription scheme in partnership with Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health at the University of Newcastle (CRRMH). It is expected to commence in 2015.
